Hi, I buy this app at the 1.x family version and it works very nice with all my videos (including wmv ones). But since it get updated to 2.x family version it only works with stock videos, and my wmv favorite videos stop to work. I request support on official website and got NO ANSWER. So i pay for what? For nothing. Its a disrespect for your costumers acting like that. So im here writting this testimonial HERE on app store, wondering if its loud enough to be heard by machsoftwaredesign (app developer) and get a answer or a fix. Thanks.

this app is quite something, so much fun. It creates an interactive backgroud... meaning you can make you background anything that you want whether it be a movie picture or a home video that you cannot get enough of. My personal choice was i selected "Planted Earth" therefore anytime i went back to my home screen for anything i was able to enjoy whatever amazing part of the video i was at

i was glad to see those movie clips came with the software some suggestions, ability to hide menubar icon - i dont need to see it if i set a color for a quartz animation it should remember it ability to add a default folder for the program to search for custom quartz i download and place them into so they appear in the list automaticly for me higher res videos would have been much appriciated however this works great ;) can wait for updates keep up the good work when i put the display to sleep it seems to come back on when i have this running, can we fix that? yay for new update but can we get some actual HQ video desktops? real HD please?

i would like to see the option of using the widgets from dashboard again , especially those new one i downloaded from apple site . I am not good at writing shell command, and i am sure all users know how . Many thanx. PS : oh yeah , where can i get those FREE composition ?

Like I said on the top, I totally reccomend this app for people who like to have animation backgrounds as their desktop wallpaper! no glitches or bugs, so far, great app! :)

I initially gave this app a very bad report, and I found later that it was a conflict with another app. This app works fine on mountain lion, and with some addition of a better looking quartz compositions, it will be even greater.

This new version has some pretty neat desktop backgrounds but I was really hoping the original Quartz options from version 1.0 would carry over. They seem to have not. And whats worse, the App Store copied over my original version. Im very disappointed, the original one had quartz designs I could customize.. these newer backgrounds are not customizable at all. Specifically, the "Warp" quartz mode was what I loved, using my own images. Terribly dissapointed.

This is the best app for customizing your desktop i highly recummend to buy it! one little glich tho when i wallpaper fills only the top bar will not fill up

The app is a very well running app, but I have a few complaints. It has many preloaded videos which can be used as desktop backgrounds, which are of a wide variety of things to suit any taste. The animated ones tend to be a little fake looking, for example, the windmill turning looks like a picture of windmill stakls with identical blades turning at the same time with no variance. Other animations have these strange streaks in the video, such as the running brook animation. But some are better. For the live videos, such as the Colleceum one, the resolution looks fantastic on a screen, like my laptop which is is 12 inch, but when you play it on a 23 inch display, it really grainy anad you can tell that the film isnt the best quality ever. The widgets are really great and useful though, but it would be nice if the creators had a few from Dashboard as well! Im not sure exactly what a “Quartz Composition” is, but im sure that feature works well. I bought this app so that I could use some of my films of ponds, buildings, and old buildings I took in europe to upload as a quicktime video. to use as a moving background. I havent done it yet, but im sure it works really well! Looking at the others, this is one of the best apps on the app store even though it has a few issues, so I definately recomend it for a few of it’s included videos, it’s widgets, and uploaded video.

paid version is not working correctly. weather and other desklet parts are not visible on desktop. free version is working better. waste of money

There is not an actual support or guide for this app. I was looking for additional animantion (Quartz Compositions or whatever are called), Ive been redirected to some site, but then? If I click to download, the animation is opened straight into the browser. If I download in my Mac, Ive no clue of where to put it. Widgets: how can I add them to the desktop? Double click, doesnt work. Drag and drop, doesnt work. A good app is made also by support and documentation.

I was looking for a way to have a website page as my macbook’s wallpaper, and it seemed impossible. Then I found this app, wich does it really nicely using "desklets”. And as a bonus I have now an app that does a lot more than that: I can have one of the beautiful animated wallpapers included in the app, or use any video I want as my wallpaper. And desklets are very useful for adding all sort of information one would need always accessible. Great work!

It would be nice if the weather desklet updated weather info

Despite my 2* rating, I actually really like this app. This is a great way to add a little life to your desktop. It gets a low rating though because it has some flaws that need to be addressed in future updates. The Good: The beach/mountain/nature wallpapers are absolutely beautiful. The widgets are an excellent feature with some basic customization options. The Bad: I have this app set to start up upon login but it is pretty slow to load and it just about triples my boot time. Weather widgets are very slow to accept my location. It took over an hour for the weather widget to adjust for my location. On my g/f’s account, her location still shows as the default location and it’s been 3 days since I installed this app. I can adjust the font type, but font size is unresponsive. 24hr clock works on 1 widget (my clock) but on another (sunrise/sunset) it will only display a 12hr clock. The Ugly: Some of these wallpapers are just horrible looking. There’s an Eiffel Tower wallpaper that would be really nice looking if it weren’t for the fact that the top of the tower is cut off. Same goes for a couple others. Ice Cavern is really cheesey and Windmills is just lol bad. Even with it’s flaws, I do like this app and plan to keep using it. If the problems I pointed out are corrected with future updates I would easily add a few more stars to my rating.

At first the App did render the video to a small square on the desktop, instead of fullscreen. Then I had to ask the developer via facebook page, how to solve the issue - and restarted the app, as suggested: Then it worked. However, this should be present on the Apps documentation website, and a restart should be made automatically after choosing the quicktime video. Anyway, it did what I brought it to do. Just need some polishments.

Wow. This thing used consistently 20% CPU. Seems like a cool concept, but it seems to need a lot of CPU power for seems to be very little benefit. I like the concept, but this level of CPU usage just to display some pretty stuff on the desktop seems like overkill. Reduce CPU usage and we have ourselves a winner!!

Very unhappy at this point. It does not function as smoothly as the description claims. So, I decided to remove it, and it destroyed my Desktop icons. I have only a Blank Screen and am unable to Restore my Desktop to what it was before installing this app. After reading many Apple Support forums, I check all Setting and Preferences… everything is configured as Apple Support outlined and still I cannot get my (pre-App-install) Desktop back. At this time, I cannot recommend this App, and their web-support has proven to be of no help.

This app is like having 5 apps in one! Aquarium? Check. Fireplace? Check. Nature Scenes? Check. Space Scenes? Check. Quicktime videos are gorgeous, Quartz comps are awesome! And for me, this app only uses 20% CPU ONLY when playing HD movies. Anything else it barely uses any CPU. Of course its going to use 20% CPU, its HD movies after all, duh! In any case, great app.

I installed this software to run a custom piece of video loop in the background. It works well enough for that. Were that all I wanted, I probably would have given it 5 stars. The built-in effects are far too busy/energetic for me, but I wanted it for custom video anyway, so I didnt care about those. However this app promises "Full multi monitor support", which is only partially true. It does support both of my attached monitors, but it does not allow running a different effect on each screen, nor does it allow even turning it off of the second screen. Since the two screens cant be controlled separately, it doesnt count as "Full" support to my mind. For my needs I would be satisfied if I could just turn off the second monitor, but the ability to run separate effects on each would be ideal. Finally, one note about funny aspect ratios: my second monitor is rotated 90 degrees, making the effective resolution 1080x1920. The effects still run fine, but they are either cropped to preserve the aspect ratio (meaning only about 30% of the screen is filled) or they are stretched waaay out or proportion to fill the screen. Even worse, you dont always have control over which happens (crop vs. stretch). For these two limitations, Im giving it 3 stars. If these things dont bother you then the app works great.
